The limiter restricts the speed of the vehicle. To reduce the speed to the set speed, the limiter applies the brakes automatically.
Variable: for speed limits, e.g. in built-up areas.
Permanent: for long-term speed restrictions, e.g. when driving in winter tyre mode.
The variable limiter is operated using the corresponding steering wheel buttons. You can store any road speed above 20 km/h up to the maximum road speed or to the set winter tyre limit. You can also perform settings while the vehicle is stationary if the vehicle has been started.
If you fail to adapt your driving style, the limiter can neither reduce the risk of an accident nor override the laws of physics. It cannot take into account road, weather or traffic conditions. The limiter is only an aid. You are responsible for maintaining a safe distance to the vehicle in front, for vehicle speed, for braking in good time and for staying in lane.
The status of the limiter and the stored speed are shown in the multifunction display.
The segments in the speedometer light up, up to the currently stored speed.
When the driving speed is greater than the stored speed, display flashes.
If you depress the accelerator pedal beyond the pressure point (kickdown), the limiter switches to passive mode. The Limiter passive message appears on the multifunction display.
If the driven speed drops below the stored speed.
If the stored speed is called up.
If you store a new speed.
