Function of ABS
The Anti-lock Brake System (ABS) regulates the brake pressure in critical driving situations:
During braking, e.g. at full brake application or insufficient tyre traction, the wheels are prevented from locking.
Vehicle steerability while braking is ensured.
If ABS intervenes when braking, you will feel a pulsing in the brake pedal. The pulsating brake pedal can be an indication of hazardous road conditions and can serve as a reminder to take extra care while driving.
System limits
ABS is active from speeds of approx. 8 km/h.
ABS may be impaired or may not function if a malfunction has occurred and the yellow
ABS warning lamp lights up continuously in the instrument cluster after the engine is started.
