If BAS is malfunctioning, the braking distance may increase in an emergency braking situation.
Depress the brake pedal with full force in emergency braking situations. ABS prevents the wheels from locking.
BAS supports your emergency braking situation with additional brake force.
If you depress the brake pedal quickly, BAS is activated:
BAS automatically boosts the brake pressure.
BAS can shorten the braking distance.
ABS prevents the wheels from locking.
The brakes will function as usual once you release the brake pedal. BAS is deactivated.
