The ECO start/stop function is not available in all drive programs, depending on the engine. Observe the status display in the instrument display for this.

If the system detects an intelligent stop inhibitor, for example, a stop sign, the engine will not stop.
If you activate the HOLD function or engage the park position , the engine can be switched off in spite of an intelligent stop inhibitor.

(green) appears when the vehicle is at a standstill: The engine was switched off by the ECO start/stop function.

(yellow) appears when the vehicle is at a standstill: Not all vehicle conditions for an engine stop have been met.
Neither the symbol

appears when the vehicle is at a standstill: An intelligent stop inhibitor was detected, e.g. a stop sign.
If the engine was switched off by the ECO start/stop function and you leave the vehicle, a warning tone sounds and the engine is not restarted. In addition, the display message Vehicle is operational Switch off ignition before exiting appears in the instrument display. If you do not switch off the vehicle, it is automatically switched off after three minutes.
