If you park the vehicle with the transmission in neutral position 
and the parking brake is not engaged, the vehicle may roll away.
There is a risk of accident and injury!
Before parking the vehicle, apply the parking brake.
Press the brake pedal and the DIRECT SELECT lever upwards or downwards to the first point of resistance.
When you switch off the vehicle, the 7-speed automatic transmission automatically shifts into neutral .
Subsequently releasing the brake pedal will allow you to move the vehicle freely, e.g. to push it or tow it away.
If the automatic transmission should also stay in neutral when the vehicle is switched off, proceed as follows:

Leave the key in the ignition lock. 9-speed automatic transmission:
Start the vehicle. Depress the brake pedal and engage neutral .
