Loading the vehicle for transport

The vehicle may be damaged when lashing to chassis components.
Only lash the vehicle at the wheels.

To load the vehicle onto a trailer or transporter, use the trailer tow hitch or the towing eye.
Before loading the vehicle
Switch on the ignition.
Vehicles with manual transmission:
shift the transmission to neutral. Vehicles with automatic transmission:
shift the transmission to position . Release the parking brake More.
Load the vehicle onto the transporter.
NOTE Damage to the drivetrain due to incorrect positioning
Do not position the vehicle above the connection point of the transport vehicle.
Make sure that the front and rear axles come to rest on the same transportation vehicle.
After loading the vehicle
Vehicles with manual transmission:
engage first or reverse gear. Vehicles with automatic transmission:
shift the transmission to position . Deactivate tow-away protection More.
Turn the key to position in the ignition lock and remove it from the ignition lock.
Use the parking brake to secure the vehicle against rolling away.
Only secure the vehicle by the wheels.
