When the ignition is switched on, many systems perform a self-test. Some indicator and warning lamps may switch on or flash temporarily during this time. This behaviour is no cause for alarm. These indicator and warning lamps indicate a malfunction only if they light up or flash after the engine has been started or during a journey.
