When Surround lighting is active, the exterior lighting lights up for 40 seconds after the vehicle is unlocked. When you start the vehicle, the surround lighting is deactivated and the automatic driving lights are activated.

Illuminated running boards: When Surround lighting is activated, the respective running boards are also illuminated when a door is opened. The illumination of the running boards is not bound to the 40 second light-up duration of the exterior lighting.
