There is an Internet connection.
Multimedia system:
Select a new message

Dictating text
Select

. The dictating function is started.
Say the message.
After the voice message has been processed, it is shown as text.
Sending a message
Select Send.
When the vehicle is stationary you can use the keyboard to write a message. No Internet connection is required to use the keyboard.
