In certain accident situations, the active bonnet can reduce the risk of injury for pedestrians. Raising the active bonnet creates additional clearance to hard components such as the engine. You can reset an active bonnet that has been triggered yourself. To do this, keeping your hands flat, press the active bonnet on both sides at the rear where the bonnet hinges are located (arrow). Press down until you hear an audible click. If the active bonnet has been triggered, make sure you have it repaired at the nearest qualified specialist workshop. This will restore pedestrian protection as well.
